Why should I change my Gas supplier?
This is not absolutely essential – but we can determine how competitive your existing supplier is by comparing your current gas prices with the other suppliers in your area. If we can identify significant savings then we will put you in contact with a supplier who may be able to offer you a better deal.

What about if I am in contract with my existing supplier?
Unfortunately, supply contracts are quite strong and it is unlikely you will be able to get out of it before the end of the contract period. So, please read your agreement carefully. If you do not have a contract or your contract has expired, you can normally switch supplier within a couple of months.

How much will it cost me to change supplier?
We will not charge you for our service. You may need to pay your existing supplier an ‘uplift charge’ for them to remove your existing tank; any ‘uplift’ charges should be indicated clearly on your supply agreement.

Will I gave to pay for a new tank to be installed by the new supplier?
If you have to pay ‘uplift’ charges and charges for a new tank to be installed, it is unlikely that you will ever recoup these costs through your improved gas price. For this reason, we will negotiate a free tank for you with the new supplier. You should start saving money straight away.

How long will it take to find out if I can save money?
We can normally advise you of potential savings within 2/3 days – we will also arrange for direct contact from the chosen supplier if you wish.

What is LPG?
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is a natural hydrocarbon fuel made up of propane and butane. It has the special property of becoming liquid when under pressure, and reverting to gases at atmospheric pressure. This means it can be easily and conveniently stored as a liquid – a big advantage over natural gas, which will only turn to liquid at extremely low temperatures. What’s more, LPG is 250 times denser as a liquid than as a gas mix. So, a lot of fuel can be stored in a relatively small space, for use almost anywhere.

Where does it come from?
About 60% of the world supply of LPG comes from the separation of natural gas products, and 40% is a by-product from the refining of crude oil. In the past, LPG has been considered as waste and flared off; now it is recognised as a major energy source. It is produced in vast quantities (the UK produced 6.8 million tonnes in 2003) and exported over 3 million tonnes. It is particularly abundant in the North Sea’s ‘wet’ crude oil and offers security of fuel supply for many years.

What is it used for?
LPG is used for space and water heating solutions, cooking and air conditioning applications, industrial or agricultural processes and powering vehicles and fleets. Our appliance and service innovations have helped us become a global mark leader in LPG sales and technologies.

Why LPG for the home?
LPG heating is a flexible energy source with all the benefits of natural gas. In addition to hot water, gas fires, heating and cooking, it can also be used to heat swimming pools, patio heaters and barbeques. LPG burns cleanly without soot and with very low emissions, and when it combusts and burns, it is odourless. By choosing LPG as the fuel source for your home, you experience not only convenience but significant environmental and economic benefits as well.

How will I know when I need to re-order gas?
Most customers choose an automatic top-up service which guarantees a constant supply of gas. However, your vessel has a contents gauge and we recommend you call to order when this reaches 30%.
